Visiting engineers

Jim Van Kuren, a professor in Miami’s Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering department, visited MFS last week with three of his students to talk to second graders about what engineers do. It was a lively, informative, and active encounter as he brought space shuttle and satellite models of projects he has worked on and students spent some time constructing paper airplanes beyond the “traditional” design.
