Taiwanese Puppet Master

Last week McGuffey was delighted to host WuShan Huang, a puppet master from Taiwan. He has been studying for nearly 20 years, since the age of 12. He works with Taiwanese puppets professionally and is considered one of the best puppet masters in Taiwan. He can make them run, jump, walk, fight, spin in the air, and sword fight.

Miami University brought him here as part of the Da Jia Hao project run by the Fine Arts Departments. A translator accompanied him to McGuffey, which allowed students to ask questions. One student noted, “It was very interesting and great way to lean about other cultures.”
